Lemon Law: Do I Have A Case?
Location: New York
Hello, currently seeking advise as I am unsure what steps I should take. Currently leasing a 2025 Nissan Kicks SR, as of June 2025.
The car was sold to us with rusted rotors, which took 4 visits for them to fix.
First visit: they took it for a test ride, and did an inspection, they told me it was rusted but said its not necessary to fix due to it being safe to drive.
Second visit: I brought it back because I felt uneasy about driving with rusted rotors, they ordered the parts.
Third visit: I waited for 4 hours and they told me they received the wrong parts but said that it wasn't a fault on their end.
Fourth visit: The rotors were finally replaced. This was August.
Now, as I was driving there was a noise upon acceleration. I brought it in to get checked, they said there was a crack in the exhaust pipe, he said a manufacturer defect, (something to due with EMS??) said the parts were on backorder and have had my car for about week now with no update.
Honestly feeling defeated with having brought the car in now 5 times and having to deal with unreliability with a brand new car that I'm leasing. I understand in NYC it has to do with it being in service for 15(?) days and the car is also underneath the mileage required to pursue this. Any advice on my next steps would be appreciated as I'm not well-versed in law. Thank you
