The 49ers can smell the NFL playoffs following their 37-24 win over the Tennessee Titans on Sunday.

San Francisco can clinch a postseason berth as soon as this weekend if one of three scenarios occurs: They beat the Indianapolis Colts on Monday night, the Detroit Lions lose to the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday or both the 49ers and Lions earn ties.

At the moment, the 49ers hold the NFC’s No. 6 seed, but if things play out properly, they could secure the No. 1 seed and a first-round bye.

But where will the 49ers ultimately end up in the seeding? NBC Sports Bay Area asked fans to weigh in over the weekend, and 32.2 percent of the voters believe San Francisco will wind up as the No. 4 or No. 5 seed.

Finishing with the No. 6 or No. 7 seed came in a close second place with 27.6 percent of the vote.

The 49ers have a path to the No. 1 seed, and 25.7 percent of the fans believe they can get there.

For the 49ers to obtain the NFC’s top seed, they need to win their final three games (which would include beating the Seattle Seahawks in the season finale) and they would need to Los Angeles Rams to at least lose in either Week 16 to the Seahawks or Week 18 to the Arizona Cardinals, per ESPN’s Playoff Machine.

The 49ers haven’t officially clinched a playoff spot, but they are close enough that they can start thinking about which seed they will wind up with.

Only three weeks to go until everything is decided.
