Lg Brings Masterpieces From The Met Into The Living Room
LG Electronics is deepening its push into digital art experiences by partnering with The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, bringing more than 100 world‑class artworks to its Gallery+ service. Owners of LG Art TVs can now display iconic paintings, prints and highlights from across The Met’s 19 curatorial departments — transforming the television into a rotating, museum‑grade canvas at home.
The collaboration introduces works ranging from Paul Cézanne’s Still Life with Apples and a Pot of Primroses to Utagawa Hiroshige’s woodblock print Seki and Winslow Homer’s Northeaster. Inspired by LG’s “Life’s Good” philosophy, the curated selection also includes pieces that evoke leisure, beauty and everyday life, such as William Merritt Chase’s At the Seaside and Édouard Manet’s The Monet Family in Their Garden at Argenteuil.
Users can browse, select and display their favourite works, creating personalised thematic rotations that reflect mood, style or artistic curiosity. The partnership gives LG Art TV owners a new way to explore The Met’s vast collection, which spans 5,000 years of global art history.
LG’s Gallery+ service already offers access to more than 5,000 artworks, including pieces by Vincent van Gogh, Claude Monet and Georges Seurat, alongside contemporary and digital‑first creations. Powered by LG’s webOS platform, Gallery+ turns the TV into a digital exhibition space, and new users receive a three‑month free trial of the premium tier.
Josh Romm, Head of Global Licensing and Partnerships at The Met, says the collaboration aligns with the museum’s mission to broaden access: “Through the Gallery+ platform, users are invited to select their favorite Met artworks to display on rotation, creating thematic presentations that reflect their personal style, mood and love of art.”
Chris Jo, head of LG’s webOS Platform Business Center, says the collaboration brings cultural enrichment into the home: “Now, the magic of The Met can be experienced from the comfort of home by communities across the globe.”
With its expanding catalogue and new high‑profile partnerships, Gallery+ is positioning LG’s Art TVs as a bridge between technology, culture and interior design — offering users a curated, ever‑evolving art experience.
