“polar Porsche” Tracked Vehicle

Card image cap

Valkyrie Racing’s Project 356 set out to drive a vintage 1956 Porsche 356A across all seven continents, not just as a global endurance challenge, but to raise awareness and funds to combat child trafficking worldwide.

Driven by founder Renée Brinkerhoff, the 356 tackled brutal environments, including La Carrera Panamericana, the red roads of East Africa, the deserts of Mongolia, mountain passes, and jungle rallies.

For the final and most extreme challenge, engineers transformed the 356 into the “Polar Porsche,” replacing the front wheels with skis and the rear wheels with heavy-duty tracks. The team then embarked on a 356-mile trek across Antarctica, traveling from Union Glacier to the South Pole and back in temperatures as low as –58 degrees Fahrenheit.

Renée and the Valkyrie Racing team completed Project 356 in December 2021, but their mission to fight child trafficking continues through Valkyrie Gives.
