Bmw Took Over Alpina And This Is What They Teased First

BMW finalized its acquisition of Alpina earlier this month and the automaker isn’t wasting any time with their “exclusive standalone brand.” Following the unveiling of their new workmark, the company has teased their modernized wheel design.

The company hasn’t gone into detail just yet, but it did say that its “20-spoke wheel continues its journey, symbolizing our commitment to the legacy we protect.”

That’s not a lot to go on, but the teaser image shows a two-tone design with bright spokes and black accents. The outside rim also has bright sections between the spokes that are highlighted by black boarders.

This gives the new interpretation of the classic wheel design, a modern and elegant look. It’s also worth noting the wheels are convex instead of concave as the spokes angle inwards at the outside edges.

A Familiar Brand With A New Mission

Under BMW, Alpina will become an ultra-luxury performance brand. Very few details have been released, but the company has stated that future models will deliver “maximum performance and superior ride comfort, combined with hallmark driving characteristics.”

Equally important is luxury and upcoming vehicles promise to have high-quality materials and craftsmanship. Customers can also expect a “remarkable portfolio of bespoke options.”

The combination of luxury and performance should enable BMW Alpina to battle Mercedes-Maybach and Audi Horch. As the company explained, “Each vehicle will be an exclusive object for connoisseurs in pursuit of the extraordinary, without compromises on performance, comfort and individuality.”

We can expect plenty of teasers in the months ahead, but the big reveal is expected to be an ultra-luxury sedan based on the facelifted 7-Series.
