Lexus Gives The Is Another Way To Remain Relevant For 2027
Every April, the professional golf world gathers for the Masters Tournament where the best of the best face off to take home 20% of the total tournament purse, a trophy, and the coveted green jacket. Currently, only 56 golfers have had the honor to take home one of these jackets, similar to how there will only be 350 North Americans who will be able to own a 2027 Lexus IS Special Appearance Package.
Lexus has introduced either a Special Edition or Special Appearance Package for the IS every year since 2022. This latest edition centers on a new color called Envious that is a similar shade to the Masters jacket. Offered for the IS 350 F Sport platform, this limited-production trim package includes a naturally aspirated 3.5-liter V-6 that puts out 311 horsepower and 280 lb.-ft of torque. The engine is paired with an eight-speed automatic for rear-wheel drive models, or a six-speed automatic for models with all-wheel drive.
Outside of the unique exterior color, the Special Appearance Package features 19-inch black BBS forged alloy wheels, black NuLuxe-trimmed seats with Ultrasuede inserts and green stitching, and satin chrome-finished trim. Additionally, every IS equipped with the Special Appearance Package will include Lexus’s Handling Package. This features a sport-tuned Adaptive Variable Suspension, five selectable drive modes (ECO, Normal, Sport S, Sport S+, and Custom), and a Torsen limited-slip differential on rear-wheel drive vehicles.
As is the way today, Lexus has stuffed cool tech features in the IS, such as Lane Change Assist, Front Cross-Traffic Alert, and Traffic Jam Assist, the latter which was first unveiled for the 2023 Lexus RX. It combines cruise control with lane tracing to create a hands-free experience while in heavy traffic — instead of applying pressure to the brake, inching the car forward, and watching for space, the car will do that for you. That way, you have more time to handle more important things like think of a better comeback than what you posted on Facebook, how you’re going to take over the world, and practice those all-important middle finger calisthenics.
If this latest offering from Lexus has piqued your interest, it will be arriving at dealerships by the end of 2026.
