The Maserati Brothers are about to join the prestigious club of historical figures whose lives have been turned into feature films. Slated to debut in Italy in October 2026, “Maserati: The Brothers” gives viewers an in-depth look at the origin story of this world-renowned Italian manufacturer.

Similar to creating a top-performing supercar, a movie is only as good as each component that goes into making it. In the case of this biopic, there are Oscar winners and nominees who have their fingerprints all over the film: It is directed by Robert Moresco (who won a screenwriting Oscar for 2006’s “Crash”), and Al Pacino, Sir Anthony Hopkins, and Andy Garcia have prominent roles.

The Andrea Iervolino Company, the production company behind this film, is currently one for two in regard to creating enjoyable biopics — its biopic about Enzo Ferrari, “Ferrari,” was well-received, while “Lamborghini: The Man Behind the Legend,” was deemed “stunningly boring” by a reviewer at Car and Driver magazine.

A lover of history myself, I hope that the production company has learned from its mistakes to make this Maserati movie into a masterpiece. There are many stories in the automotive world that need to be told, and the better they are, the more others will be encouraged to try. View the trailer below.

Though the film will be released on October 15th, it’s currently unknown if and when it will hit theaters in the United States (or go straight to streaming). If history serves as a guide, the production company’s other two films reached theaters either before or simultaneously with a streaming release.
