New 2027 Ram Promaster City Van Priced Under $40k

For business owners in condensed urban areas, navigating a large triple-axle van might not be the best plan. A solution to that dilemma is the 2027 Ram ProMaster City which, in Tradesman Cargo spec, is the most affordable commercial van available in the U.S.

“Ram has been making a lot of noise with our truck lineup, but we’re equally focused on the commercial customers who count on us every day to keep their businesses moving,” says Matt VanDyke, Ram CEO. “When we unveiled the all-new ProMaster City earlier this year, we made a commitment to deliver a starting price below $40,000 because we know the cost of acquisition matters, no matter how small or large your business is. Today, we’re delivering on that promise.”

At just under 6.5 feet tall, the Ram ProMaster City Van fits under most standard garages and structures. It also can hold a prodigious 167 cubic feet of capacity thanks to its 111-inch load floor and 2,000-pound payload capacity, or tow 2,000 pounds with a Class 3 hitch. That’s quite good considering the torquey 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder found under the hood — it puts out 166 horsepower and 221 lb-ft of torque. Connected to the engine is an eight-speed automatic transmission that powers the front wheels “maximizing both traction and cargo carrying capability,” according to Ram.

The prices for the 2027 Ram ProMaster City lineup are as follows (not including $2,595 destination):

• Ram ProMaster City Tradesman Cargo: $37,400
• Ram ProMaster City Tradesman Passenger Wagon: $40,100
• Ram ProMaster City SLT Cargo: $38,900
• Ram ProMaster City SLT Passenger Wagon: $41,600
