This year's event promises a bumper line-up of new production cars and concepts, and some of the top executives in the industry will be on hand.
The show kicks off at the Paris Expo Porte de Versailles on Monday (11 October), but various manufacturers are staging events on Sunday evening, so expect a batch of unveilings and news this evening.

Autocar has a team on the ground in Paris, and will be bringing you the latest news and updates here, along with full stories on all the big reveals on the site.
Sunday 11 October
09:30: The show might not start until tomorrow, but for Autocar's Paris reporters James Attwood and Charlie Martin, it's already begun – in St Pancras, where a substantial chunk of the UK automotive media industry are gathering to catch the Eurostar.
While most of the big reveals don't start until this evening, some manufacturers have already shown off some of their show stars. Here are some of the early stars.
Paris is home ground for Renault, and the French firm has already signalled its intent with the stunning 8 Gordini concept, which is largely a design study but is so cool we've already started a campaign for the firm to make it.
Meanwhile, Alpine has previewed the next-generation A110 not with a concept, but with a sculpture. While it doesn't show much detail, the full-size creation gives a clear hint to the A110's size and design.
Volkswagen will also have a prominent presence on the show, and is using the event to showcase the new ID Tiguan, the heavily reworked updated of the ID 4 SUV.
That's just an early taste, with plenty more to come.
