Porsche And Frauscher Push Electric Performance From Road To Water

The German–Austrian partnership between Porsche and Frauscher Boats is accelerating into its next chapter. At boot Düsseldorf 2026, the two brands will unveil the Frauscher x Porsche 790 Spectre, a newly developed electric sports boat built entirely around the advanced electric powertrain of the Porsche Macan.

Marking its world premiere, the 790 Spectre will be showcased alongside the Macan Turbo Concept Lago, an extensively customised concept vehicle that visually and conceptually mirrors the boat. Adding to the electric lineup, the Porsche Cayenne Electric will also make its German debut at the show.

Designed Electric from the Ground Up

Whether it’s the Taycan, Macan or Cayenne Electric, Porsche develops its BEV models as fully electric sports cars from the very beginning. This approach gives engineers maximum freedom in performance, packaging and design.

Austrian boatbuilder Frauscher has now embraced the same philosophy—engineering the 790 Spectre entirely around an electric drivetrain rather than adapting existing designs.

Frauscher x Porsche 790 Spectre: Electric Performance on Water

The Frauscher x Porsche 790 Spectre has been purpose-built to house Porsche’s high-performance electric system. At its core is the 100 kWh high-voltage battery, 400 kW PSM electric motor, and the full control electronics package taken directly from the Macan Turbo Electric.

To fully exploit this technology, Frauscher developed an all-new hull that is lighter, shorter and narrower than previous models. Measuring 7.97 metres in length, the result is a highly agile, efficient and lightweight electric sports boat—setting new standards in the maritime world, much like the award-winning Frauscher x Porsche Fantom and its open ‘Air’ variant.

Shared Design DNA: Car and Boat in Perfect Sync

While performance is key, design plays an equally important role. The 790 Spectre carries unmistakable Porsche design DNA, visible throughout the exterior and interior.

For its world premiere, Porsche underlines the bond between road and water with the Macan Turbo Concept Lago, a one-off show car customised by Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur. Both vehicles share a unified visual language, blurring the boundaries between sports car and sports boat.

One standout feature is the exclusive Darkteal Metallic paint finish, developed through Porsche’s Paint to Sample programme. The same colour is available for the 790 Spectre, applied at the boatyard as an 11-layer finish. Customisation continues with the sideblades: body-coloured on the Macan Concept Lago, and high-gloss black with ‘electric’ lettering on the show boat.

Interior Craftsmanship: Automotive Precision Meets Maritime Luxury

Inside the 790 Spectre, the design dialogue continues. The start button positioned to the left of the steering wheel, the Porsche-branded steering wheel, and the sports seats bearing the Porsche Crest all echo the brand’s automotive heritage.

Five round instruments with classic Porsche graphics dominate the helm, while the rear bench—with its vertical stitching—draws inspiration from Porsche seat design.

Macan Turbo Concept Lago: Inspired by the Sea

The influence flows both ways. The 790 Spectre also leaves its mark on the Macan Turbo Concept Lago, which features bespoke details from Porsche’s Sonderwunsch programme.

Both front and rear luggage compartments are lined with real yacht-style wood, extending to door trims and floor mats for a deck-like feel. In place of Porsche’s traditional Sport Chrono stopwatch, a compass takes centre stage in the cockpit.

The seats combine marine-grade fabric in the centres with Crayon leather bolsters, complemented by Crayon-trimmed air vents and Night Green contrast stitching. Even the vehicle and boat keys are identically customised in Darkteal Metallic—reinforcing the seamless connection between the two worlds.

Electric Availability and a Powerful Tow Partner

While the Macan Turbo Concept Lago remains a design study, the Frauscher x Porsche 790 Spectre is now available to order, with extensive personalisation options.

Customers can also order and customise the new Porsche Cayenne Electric, which makes its German debut at boot Düsseldorf. In Turbo specification, Porsche’s second fully electric SUV delivers up to 850 kW (1,156 PS) and can tow up to 3.5 tonnes, making it an ideal and powerful companion for transporting electric sports boats.
