Question Of The Day: Do You Want A Volkswagen Pickup Truck?

There’s no question that auto companies that make pickup trucks make money on those vehicles. Ford’s F-Series pickups could be their own company based on revenue — and profits — alone. This is prompting more companies to start building trucks for the U.S. market.

The latest to consider it? Volkswagen. VW actually used to offer a small pickup in the U.S. that was based off its Rabbit compact. It left in 1983. The German automaker’s teased a return with its Tarok for nearly a decade and now it’s floating a compact model dubbed the Tukan. Considering the company’s threating to kill 100,000 jobs globally over the next couple of years, this seems ambitious — but profit is profit.

So the question is … would you buy a Volkswagen Tukan, Tarok or whatever it gets named? Or are the Ford Maverick, Toyota Tacoma, Chevy Silverado, et al enough for you? Let us know.
