Save Some Dogs And Win A 1996 Chevrolet Corvette!
Cars are cool, but let’s talk about something that’s more important in life: dogs! I myself had a Rhodesian Ridgeback that we had to put down at the age of eight this past June. It hurts knowing my son won’t get to grow with her through his childhood, among other things. My wife and I have discussed whether we should get a puppy or a rescue dog — after all, there are plenty of animals that need the love that we have to offer. One way to give back the unconditional love we receive is to buy tickets for the Barkville Dog Rescue’s Raffle for Rescue 2026 raffle.
Unfortunately, as you can imagine, the world of orphan dogs does not change — there will always be many canines that need homes. Rescues continue to do the hard work and save as many that are at risk as possible. The financial burden on rescues can be tough, making fundraisers like the Raffle to Rescue 2026 extremely important.
Last year’s Barkville Corvette raffle was a success, so why not another? Considering some folks behind the nonprofit also run Cloud 9 Classics, they found an awesome 1996 Corvette Collector Edition to raffle off.
Over 3,000 dogs have been saved by the Barkville Dog Rescue over the past 10 years. Here’s the story of one, as told by Roy Polodin, volunteer and owner of Cloud 9 Classics:
One of our volunteers saw a post from a rural Georgia shelter showing a dog with a severe skin infection that was scheduled to be euthanized the following morning. The dog was only 11 months old and sadly we knew that if we did not save him, his time was up. Our volunteer picked him up later that day and we had him fully vetted right away. Our foster gave him the love and care he needed and, within 6 weeks, the transformation was breathtaking. He is one of the most loving, sweetest dogs you will find. His shelter name was Potato Chip, and he is now available for adoption.
Of course, it’s not just the rescue that deserves credit — it’s folks like you who have the love and appreciation for these animals that have a special connection with the human species.
The 1996 Corvette — the last of the C4s — is one of 5,412 built (4,031 reportedly were coupes) with the Z15 Collector Edition package, which included Sebring Silver paint, silver-painted five-spoke 17-inch aluminum wheels, and special trim. Notable features include the LT1 V-8, automatic transmission, and Torch Red leather interior. The second owner has owned this ‘Vette since 1999 and, as you can see, it has been meticulously maintained — the paint happens to be the original sprayed at Bowling Green! If this doesn’t make you drool like a Mastiff, you could always opt for the $10,000 prize instead.
Tickets cost $20 for one, $100 for six, or $200 for 15. Only 7,500 will be sold before the drawing on December 12, 2026. To buy your tickets, click here!
