The Most Powerful Land Cruiser 300 Reaches Europe, Just Not Where You Might Expect
- Electrified Land Cruiser launches in select Eastern Europe markets.
- It’s the most powerful Land Cruiser ever at 457 hp combined.
- Twin-turbo V6 and electric motor deliver torque to all four wheels.
Toyota has widened the rollout of its full-fat Land Cruiser 300 Hybrid, introducing the electrified SUV to “select eastern European markets” following its debut in the Middle East last year.
Elsewhere, the larger 300 Series remains out of reach. Western Europe and North America will continue with the more luxurious Lexus LX or the slightly smaller Land Cruiser 250, as the ladder-frame 300 is still off the menu in those regions.
Twin-Turbo V6 Meets Electric Boost
The hybrid Land Cruiser 300 also happens to be the most powerful version yet, delivering a combined 457 hp (341 kW / 464 PS) and 790 Nm (583 lb-ft) of torque. That output comes from a twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 paired with a single electric motor, positioned between the internal combustion engine and a 10-speed automatic gearbox that sends power to all four wheels.

According to Toyota, the “performance hybrid” delivers up to 40 percent stronger acceleration than the ICE-only version powered by the twin-turbo 3.3-liter engine. The electric motor helps sharpen throttle response and smooth out torque delivery. It can also operate in electric-only mode at speeds of up to 30 km/h (19 mph), drawing power from a nickel-metal hydride battery.
To preserve its go-anywhere reputation, the battery is sealed in a waterproof case, keeping the SUV’s 700 mm (27.6 inches) wading depth fully intact. Toyota says the hybrid has been tested in demanding conditions around the world and remains confident in its off-road capability.
The 300 Hybrid comes with electric power steering, aimed at improving precision and control on a wide range of surfaces. Off-road tech carries over, including Multi-Terrain Select, Crawl Control, Downhill Assist Control, and the Multi-Terrain Monitor.
Three Flavors of Hybrid
In Europe, buyers will get a choice of three trims: the entry-level VX, the mid-range ZX, and the range-topping GR Sport. All variants feature a five-seat configuration, with no three-row option. Of the three, only the ZX pictured in official images comes fitted with a redesigned bodykit.

Equipment is quite generous across the range, as even the entry-level VX comes standard with 18-inch wheels, a power tailgate, full LED headlights, dual screens measuring 12.3 inches, a 14-speaker JBL premium audio system, four-zone A/C, heated steering wheel, electric front seats, and a 1500W AC outlet.
Moving up to the ZX adds more tech and flair, including Adaptive Variable Suspension, a five-mode drive selector, a head-up display, a kick-sensor tailgate, and a rear limited-slip differential.
Finally, the GR Sport keeps its distinctive, rugged look with unique bumpers, grille, fenders, and 18-inch wheels, and adds Toyota’s more advanced e-KDSS (Electronic Kinetic Dynamic Suspension System), which can disengage the anti-roll bars to maximize wheel articulation.
Availability
Toyota has confirmed that the Land Cruiser 300 Hybrid will roll out to “selected eastern European markets” starting in January 2026, though it hasn’t specified which countries will be included. Pricing details for the region are still under wraps, but in the United Arab Emirates, the electrified model starts at AED 389,900 ($106,200).

This won’t be the 300 Series’ first appearance in Europe either. Since its debut in 2021, the SUV has been officially offered in markets like Ukraine, Georgia, Azerbaijan, and Armenia.
It has also been confirmed that the new Land Cruiser Hybrid will reach Australia in the first half of 2026. In the future, it could also become available in its home market in Japan where it received mild upgrades in 2025.
