Volkswagen Id.cross Arriving In Europe From €28,000

Volkswagen is expanding its electric lineup with the upcoming Volkswagen ID.Cross, a compact all-electric SUV set to launch across Europe in autumn 2026.
With a starting price of around €28,000, the new model aims to bring practical and affordable electric mobility to a wider audience.
Designed as a versatile five-seater, the ID.Cross targets drivers looking for a capable daily EV that balances price, space, and modern technology. Ahead of its official debut, the vehicle is currently being showcased in Amsterdam, wearing a distinctive camouflage wrap.
The ID.Cross adopts Volkswagen’s Pure Positive design language, characterized by clean lines, balanced proportions, and a refined overall appearance. Rather than flashy styling, the compact SUV presents a confident yet understated look that reflects the brand’s latest design direction.
Inside, the cabin emphasizes clarity, comfort, and usability. The interior layout features intuitive controls, large digital displays, and carefully selected materials that aim to deliver a more premium feel than typical entry-level EVs. With seating for five and efficient use of interior space, the ID.Cross promises practicality for everyday driving.
Multiple Powertrains and Battery Options
Volkswagen will offer the ID.Cross with three power levels to suit different driving needs. The power levels 85 kW, 99 kW and 155 kW are offered, combined with two battery sizes of 37 kWh and 52 kWh (net).
This flexible configuration allows the compact electric SUV to serve a variety of use cases—from urban commuting to longer journeys outside the city.
Fast Charging and Modern Driver Assistance
The ID.Cross supports DC fast charging, with peak rates of up to 90 kW for the smaller battery and up to 105 kW with the larger battery pack. This capability should enable relatively quick charging stops, making the EV more convenient for daily use.
Volkswagen will also equip the model with a suite of modern driver assistance systems, helping improve safety and driving comfort while supporting a more relaxed driving experience.
Affordable Electric Mobility for Europe
With its compact footprint, practical interior, and competitive starting price, the ID.Cross is positioned as one of Volkswagen’s most accessible electric SUVs. The combination of modern technology, multiple powertrain options, and solid build quality could make it a strong contender in Europe’s rapidly growing EV market.
When it arrives in showrooms in late 2026, the Volkswagen ID.Cross could play a key role in bringing affordable electric mobility to a broader range of drivers.
