‘cynical And Political Disgrace’: Allan And Symes’ Work From Home Laws Will Be A ‘free For All’

Sky News host Steve Price slams the “weak political leadership” of Victorian Premier Jacinta Allan and her Treasurer Jaclyn Symes making their work-from-home announcement, which as a “cynical and political disgrace”.

Ms Allan claims work from home works for families because it saves time and money and gets more parents working.

“They were out today announcing the most blatantly political desperation ever seen in this state,” Mr Price said.

“Allan the Premier, whose only job outside politics was a grocery bagger at Coles to go with her arts degree and Symes law degree in hand, and a career as a political staffer are about to introduce to parliament laws around work from home.

“This will decimate small business in Victoria, it will force an almighty industrial blow-up involving, among others, teachers and police, who are likely to demand wage rises to compensate for the fact they can't work from home, so should be paid more to attend the workplace.

This is going to turn into a free-for-all, and why? Well, Allan thinks it’s her best chance to get re-elected in November as hundreds of thousands of public servants vote her in for letting them stay home two days a week minimum, not by negotiation but as a right.”
