‘kellen Moore May Be Worse Than Dennis Allen,’ ‘does Nothing For This Football Team’ — Saints Fans Question Hc’s Future Following 1–4 Start
The New Orleans Saints’ 23-13 loss to the Minnesota Vikings in Week 5 has only added to the frustration surrounding head coach Kellen Moore. With the team sitting at 1-4, fans are already questioning whether he is the right man for the job.
Sunday’s defeat was New Orleans’ third straight loss, following a 45-24 blowout against Atlanta in Week 4.
The offense hasn’t shown much improvement, and some fans are now comparing Moore to former Saints coach Dennis Allen, who also faced heavy criticism during his time in New Orleans.
Saints Fans Question Kellen Moore’s Future
Moore joined New Orleans in February 2025 with the task of fixing an inconsistent offense, but slow starts have remained a problem.
He has a 7-15 record through 22 games, including a 3-8 mark at home. The Saints have trailed at halftime in 17 of their first 21 games under him.
The first-quarter numbers are just as concerning. New Orleans has led after the opening quarter only once in 22 games, scoring a league-low 35 points and recording 29 first-quarter three-and-outs.
The Saints’ offense struggled all over again against Minnesota. The Vikings kept quarterback Tyler Shough under pressure, holding him to a season-low 96 passing yards. His 65.3 PFN QB Impact Score in Week 5 ranks 23rd in the league. All in all, New Orleans managed just 142 total yards and six offensive points in the loss.
The performance added to the frustration among Saints fans, many of whom believe the team has not shown enough improvement under Moore.
One fan wrote, “Kellen Moore is on the hot seat. I don’t wanna hear anything else. 1-4 start in a season. You were supposed to be better. He does nothing for this football team.”
Analyst Tjay Jone compared Moore to his predecessor, writing, “I can’t believe I’m about to say this, but Kellen Moore may be worse than Dennis Allen.”

NFL writer Chris Rosvoglou shared a similar view, saying, “Kellen Moore might be worse than Dennis Allen, and I couldn’t stand Dennis Allen.”
Lead Saints writer John Sigler was also critical of Moore’s tenure, writing, “Kellen Moore is making a great case for joining Matt Nagy, Adam Gase, and Kliff Kingsbury in the ranks of upjumped OCs who have no business running a team.”

Other fans pointed to the team’s lack of discipline and its struggles to move the ball consistently.
One commenter wrote, “Kellen Moore isn’t making it past this season. It’s not even a question anymore. The team has no discipline, and it’s being proven today. If Shough can’t go god mode, the offense can’t move the ball.”
Another fan argued, “He’s been on the hot seat. Shough’s late-season heroics last year never covered the stink of a bad HC.”
One more fan summed up the growing frustration by saying, “I’m done with Kellen. He’s an OC at best.”
The Saints head to New York to face the Giants in Week 6 with little room for another setback. At 1-4, they need to turn things around before their season goes further off track.
Moore needs to get the offense going earlier and find more consistency from his team. With fans already questioning his leadership, another loss to the Giants would only add to the pressure.
