‘married To Real Estate’ Stars Egypt Sherrod And Mike Jackson Reveal They’re Expanding Their ‘empire’ To Florida And Texas
"Married to Real Estate" stars Egypt Sherrod and Mike Jackson have announced that they are expanding their real estate business to two new states following the cancelation of their HGTV series.
The couple, who confirmed in June that their show had been axed from the home renovation network amid a widespread programing purge, run a large real estate company called Indigo Road, which includes a brokerage and an interior design arm.
For years, the couple's business has been headquartered in Atlanta, where they have built what they describe as a real estate "empire."
But now, months after their HGTV run came to an end, the couple have shared that they are ready to broaden Indigo Road's horizons, expanding it well beyond the Peach State and into three new locations—one in Florida and two in Texas.
Sherrod, 49, and Jackson shared the news in an Instagram post that featured several images and videos of them celebrating with their Indigo Road colleagues—with one clip featuring Sherrod making a major announcement to their team.

"You can underestimate us ... we actually prefer it that way. Just don’t underestimate what GOD can do for those who are faithful and do the work!" she captioned the post.
In one of the videos, Sherrod is seen addressing a crowded room at an Indigo Road event, telling the audience: "So, in two years, we’ve made an empire here in Atlanta. We’ve definitely built a family. We are expanding to Dallas, Texas; Houston, Texas; and Orlando, Florida."
The news marks a major step in the couple's real estate journey—one that they started documenting on HGTV in 2022, when their show launched.
However, after their show was suddenly axed, the couple took a brief step back from the spotlight, with Sherrod later revealing that she had suffered several significant health hiccups that required her to focus on healing rather than her public appearances.
“Hi family! I owe you an update ... sorry for the silence. I had to step away from the world for the past five weeks to focus fully on healing after surgery. It’s been a scary road, but I’m still standing and still on the mend," she wrote in a January post.
Sherrod revealed that her recovery from that unspecified procedure was impeded when she was involved in a painful accident that left her unable to walk.
“Now here’s the wild part … just as I finally got back on my feet last week, a literal piece of marble fell on my foot and shattered two of my toes. TWO. The devil is absolutely a liar," she went on.

But the reality TV star said that she is still hopeful that 2026 will be a positive year because her injury occurred just before the new year.
The home renovation duo have been candid about their feelings following the cancelation of their show, but they told People that they couldn't help but find the funny side in the cancellation, which they described as "insane."
The home design experts said that they immediately went into "positive mode" and tried to see the upside in their situation, noting the particular irony in their receiving the news after returning from vacation—having experienced a similar incident after a trip to Costa Rica in 2024.
"We came back on this amazing high and, I lie to you not, we were still at the airport loading our bags in our car when management and the agency called us to tell us about the show. It was insane," Sherrod recalled.
The moment closely mirrored another devastating return from an anniversary trip the previous year, when the duo landed back in the U.S. to discover that their production team had been cleared out.
"Literally, Mike and I looked at each other and burst out laughing because it was like, 'What are the chances of us coming back from vacation the second time and getting this kind of news?'" Sherrod shared.
"One of the first things we said is maybe we shouldn't go on vacation anymore. Every time we went on vacation, we would get mollywhopped with something."
While the couple noted that they found as much humor in the situation as they could, the news did come with "disappointment and hurt."
