Shah congratulated the force on receiving the prestigious President's Colour, becoming the 16th police force in the country to receive the honour. Highlighting Uttarakhand Police's role in disaster response and public safety, the Home Minister recalled its contributions during the Kedarnath disaster and the Silkyara tunnel rescue operation, among other emergencies. He also highlighted the force's expansion from 13,000 to 26,000 personnel and its responsibility in securing millions of pilgrims visiting Uttarakhand's prominent religious destinations. Shah also referred to the Centre's Vibrant Villages Programme, stating that at least 50 villages were witnessing population resettlement instead of migration.
