About 7 months ago, I posted here introducing Invoice Builder an offline-first, open-source invoicing and quoting tool built for freelancers and small business owners who want complete control over their financial data with zero subscriptions, cloud lock-in, or telemetry.

Thanks to the incredible feedback and support from this community, the project has grown far beyond what I expected: It has reached 900+ stars and 100+ forks on GitHub!

What’s New Since Last Time?

• PostgreSQL Support: You are no longer limited to local SQLite files! You can now connect Invoice Builder to a PostgreSQL server for multi-user setups, concurrent access, and NAS/server deployments.
• E-Invoicing Compliance (UBL 2.1, Peppol BIS 3.0 & XRechnung): Mandatory e-invoicing laws are rolling out across Europe. Invoice Builder can now export fully compliant XML formats for automated submission to buyers and public administrations.
• Payment QR Codes: Embed payment QR codes directly into generated PDF invoices so clients can pay you faster.
• Deep PDF & Theme Customization: Added style profiles, customizable headers/labels, table column reordering, image attachments, and hand-drawn/uploaded signatures.
• Expanded Localization: Added multi-language support (English, German, French, and Lithuanian) with document-level language toggles independent of app settings.
• Streamlined Docker Setup: Simplified Nginx proxy setup-no more tinkering with frontend API URLs for standard deployments.
