‘you Don’t Get To Break Things’: Walz Demands Taxpayers Pay For ‘damage’ From Law Enforcement Surge
Gov. Tim Walz, D-Minn.
Gov. Tim Walz is the far-left governor in Minnesota.
That’s where billions of taxpayer dollars have disappeared into social services fraud schemes, mostly relating to the huge Somali immigrant community there.
That’s where millions of dollars were spent to have a law enforcement surge address the scofflaws ignoring American border and immigration laws.
That’s where state officials openly advocated for violence, for attacks on federal officers, for them to fail – one official said ICE officers should “get the f—” out of the state.
In an appearance before Congress, Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison, a far-left activist, was accused of encouraging agitators to obstruct federal officers and, in fact, place themselves in danger in order to do that. The result of that was that two agitators were shot and killed. Ellison’s response was a smirk.
It’s in Minnesota where now, weeks after the enforcement program started, state and local law enforcement finally are cooperating with federal agents, meaning those federal agents can soon be withdrawn from the state.
But that’s not the end of it, according to Walz.
He wants American taxpayers to give him money.

The Washington Examiner documented the demands Walz was making.
“The federal government needs to pay for what they broke here. There’s going to be accountability on the things that happened, but one of the things is the incredible and immense costs that were born by the people of this state, the federal government needs to be responsible,” Walz claimed.
“You don’t get to break things and then just leave without doing something about it. So we’re going to be asking the federal delegation to be investing (sic) and doing the things necessary.”
He threatened that he’s already been in communication with “colleagues, both at the federal level, with the Senate and the House, but especially governors.”
The demands from the governor, who was Kamala Harris’ failed sidekick in the 2024 presidential election race, came shortly after Border Czar Tom Homan said the federal operations were being concluded.
Walz claimed federal officers enforcing federal law have “inflicted long-term damage on Minnesota communities.”
“Recovery will not happen overnight. Families, workers, and business owners are feeling the effects, and our responsibility is clear: we will help rebuild, stabilize these businesses, protect jobs, and ensure Minnesota’s economy can recover and thrive,” he said.
