Anyone Feel Like They Are Being Slowed Down?

I don’t mean life itself. I mean making money and survival. I have a rental, a home and a business. It seems like there is no way to advanced and I’m stuck. The rental is nothing but problems, the government (in canada) is not on the side of the landlord, and its issue after issue and the LL foots the bill. Drug addicts run rampant and police do nothing. In Canada, you are not allowed to deny someone a rental if they are addicted to drugs. That’s considered a disability… However, if your tenant does drugs in your unit, you are liable as a landlord. How the hell is this even possible?

I try to run my business and I’m delayed and stoped constantly. Traffic is horrible these days, it takes 20 minutes just to leave my house. I get stopped by trains that are full on stopped on the tracks, and when you try to go around another route that route is blocked.

I’m trying to build another house and it’s a mountain of red tape. Before it was simple, now I need to spend 10’s of thousands before even begging in fees. Consultation fees, engineers, stamps, permits and permits before I can get the permits, fees to plant trees, it’s non stop.

My normal clients find my prices now too high, I haven’t raised them. Immigrants are flooding into my country and working illegally for nothing.

Interest rates keep going up and up, we are taxed on everything. You need insurance on everything.

When I started this business, you can get insurance for a jack of all trades. Now you need specific insurance for every single thing that you do or you’re not covered. Do you want to paint? You need painters insurance. Do you want to build a fence? You need fence builders insurance. Do you want to change a door knob? You need door specialist insurance.

Did you know you need insurance for a trailer? That that’s right if you’re pulling a trailer with you’re already insured vehicle that trailer is not insured. If anything happens, you’re in trouble because that trailer doesn’t have insurance on it.

It just seems like there’s absolutely no way to get ahead. I know a lot of people are going to be upset about the landlord thing, but I got the house for my daughter so she has somewhere to live when she grows up. I kept rent below average and did nothing bad but I did repair everything the tenant wanted. I only had the house for two years and I’ve already spent over $25,000 in upkeep alone from what the last landlords left me with.

It’s just odd that it seems like there’s no way to get ahead and it’s programmed to be that way. I mean, if you buy a car you pay tax on it. And then when you sell the car, you pay tax again. And when that person sells the car more taxes paid. How is the government able to collect multiple taxes on the same thing?

And don’t get me started with people trying to scam others or trying to take money from them. My email and phone are a constant parade of scam artist just trying to get my information or money.

Is it just me or does anybody feel like this is on purpose?
