Apple Could Unveil Three Smart Home Devices In October With Siri Ai Brain

This year is shaping up to be quite a big and exciting year for Apple. Not only is the company launching its first-ever foldable iPhone, but according to the latest reports, Apple has three new smart home products that could launch in the coming months.

According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple has three new smart home products in the works. Two of these products already exist, so we could just be getting a refresh. This includes a new Apple TV and the HomePod mini.

The current Apple TV 4K is powered by the ancient A15 Bionic chipset. So, a modern Apple chipset would already be a massive improvement. We’re not sure if Apple will use the upcoming A20 or if it might use the A19 Pro or older. Either way, it’s a set-top box so it probably doesn’t need that much power to start with. We’re also not sure what else Apple plans to change, so we’ll have to wait and see.

The other refresh comes in the form of a newer HomePod mini. The device uses the S5 chip, the same chip as the Apple Watch Series 5. So yes, it is practically ancient by tech standards. However, like the Apple TV, it doesn’t necessarily need to be super powerful anyway. But at the same time, the upcoming release of the revamped Apple Intelligence and Siri AI, maybe a more powerful chip, could allow the smart speaker to be “smarter.”

Smart speaker with built-in display

Now, admittedly the two products we mentioned above aren’t particularly exciting. But the third smart home product could be. Gurman claims Apple could potentially launch its smart speaker with a built-in display as soon as October. Alternatively, it could be pushed to early next year.

This isn’t the first time we’ve heard about this. But a potential launch in October means we might not have to wait longer to see it become a reality. The device is rumored to feature a 7-inch display and is built around Siri AI. It also has facial recognition, which allows it to identify who’s using it to display personalized content on the screen.

Amazon and Google have been in the smart display business for years now. It will be interesting to see how Apple will differentiate itself and if it could potentially revitalize the product segment.
