Bangkok metropolitan authorities and local police have launched a massive criminal negligence probe into the disaster, investigating whether vital emergency exit doors were illegally locked or obstructed by tables and chairs, and if the rapid spread of the inferno was accelerated by flammable acoustic soundproofing and stage materials. While dozens have been treated and discharged, at least 24 victims remain fighting for their lives in intensive care units across Bangkok, with investigators interviewing over 34 witnesses to determine formal charges against the establishment's operators.
