Can Ffr Robots Clean Your Home, Do Security And Surveillance? Can They Do Work In Manufacturing Facilities? Jerry Wang Of Ffr Says: "probably Not...i Really Doubt It Can Do Actual Meaningful Real World Tasks."

Jerry Wang had 15 minutes to pitch the robot business at the LD Micro 20th Annual Conference yesterday. I sat thru it and took notes so you wouldn't have to. It was painful. It was the usual BS. Flywheel, Blue Ocean and Tesla were the buzzwords of the day. Here are my favorite Jerry quotes during his PowerPoint:

On how useful robots are today: "What can the robot do as of now or in the next 6 months? QUITE LIMITED. Can it clean your home? Probably not. Can it , like, do the security and surveillance? Probably not. Can it start the work in the actual manufacturing facility? Probably not as of now."

On data training: "You need data to train the robots…we’re getting lots of data. We’re generating 2000 hours per month data from our data factory business right now. We are sending those datas to large AI companies to train their AI infrastructure capabilities as well. We already generated $500M revenue on the data factory side."

On selling data: "We have orders from the large AI companies all buying our data because of the diversity , because those are real data, and because, um, ah, um we package the data , we clean the data , we tag the data really, really well from them to train their advanced frontier foundational models."

The powerpoint concluded with a 60 second demo of...a dancing robot.. during which Jerry chuckles as the robot gets a little too close for comfort saying that robots "still need people protection" and then shuts down the demo saying "that's about it before it hits someone"

The PPT subtitle: 12 Years of Automotive Manufacturing Excellence, Now Powering Robotics...(you have to laugh)
