Choosing Between Cofounders [i Will Not Promote]
I have to decide between potential co-founders.
The first founders have a good idea which syncs nicely with a Saas platform I built and they seem interested in. They want me as CTO (the last one left, not sure why). They seem very ambitious and have clearly defined goals and a business plan, but no website for their venture. We seem to have values in common (frugality, leanness etc). They are good listeners.
The other has founded a company and says he's getting revenue. He has a website with a lot of valid-looking content and seems to want me as a front-end freelancer. He talks over me a lot and seems brilliant. Actually, after our most recent conversation my impression has shifted to "he's crazy".
My concern is the lack of info on all of them. All have LinkedIn profiles but without work history, just names and descriptions of their ventures. Is this typical? I have 20+ years experience developing java, php, etc and long LinkedIn history.
As for me, I'm building all sorts of cool stuff. My platform is up and running though no clients. I thought a co-founder would give me someone to bounce ideas off so I would not be working in an echo chamber. It's more just having a relationship other than chatGPT. If it leads to a successful company, all the better.
Not sure who to choose, the first co-founders who would integrate my platform and treat me as an equal but don't have much information, or the 2nd who seems to have a more completed product but is difficult to talk to.
Maybe I should continue on my own? I tend to talk myself out of everything so maybe I'm being too cautious?
