Cloud.ru Offices – Moscow

The architectural bureau Syntaxis has designed the second phase of the headquarters for Cloud.ru company located in a separate building within the Lucky cluster in Moscow. The business space occupying an area of 962 sq.m fully takes up the fourth floor of the building and is intended for one of Russia’s largest cloud service providers. The project concept CloudUnity aims to create a maximally comfortable working ecosystem managed by smart technologies.

Business Task
Dynamic growth in the market of IT services required Cloud.ru company to expand its back office for scaling the business and solving new corporate tasks. Architects were tasked with creating a comfortable multifunctional ecosystem that would allow flexible management of spaces while emphasizing focused work character.

Thanks to successful experience with the client, Syntaxis bureau was able to develop a project meeting advanced technical requirements and clearly reflecting the corporate culture of Cloud.ru. CloudUnity is the idea of combining the company’s main business space with a new office into a seamlessly integrated workspace environment.

Space Structure
In the office there are organized 105 open-space workstations, 14 cabin-style places and 22 seats in integrated soft zones. Additionally, CloudUnity includes a compact coffee point, conference rooms, locker areas and a multi-purpose lecture hall. At the core of the floor are service and auxiliary premises.

Besides standard functions, planning solutions include four individual work scenarios specifically developed for Cloud.ru. For example, well-developed informal communication zones significantly improve and simplify cross-communication between employees and departments. A dedicated IT laboratory is provided for testing innovative solutions, implementing experimental projects and initiatives.

Individual and team training sessions, presentations of new technologies, master classes and trainings take place in a spacious classroom equipped with adaptive transformation capabilities and powerful multimedia system.

Design Concept
The design concept of the CloudUnity project reflects the idea of connecting information, creative, work and communication flows of the company into a single ecosystem.

Architects paid special attention to creating an original three-layer color scheme for the office called “60-30-10”. 60% of surfaces are executed in neutral light shades forming the outline of workplaces. They help focus on tasks, immerse deeper into them and create a calm atmosphere. 30% of surfaces consist of more saturated tones highlighting important elements and structuring the space. 10%—bright colorful accents and free-form furniture in creativity and rest zones where inspiration, experiments and new ideas emerge. Between layers biophilic elements are placed making the space friendlier.

Lighting solutions provide comfort, health safety and flexible work scenarios. Over work zones, lamps with combined optics from opal and microprismatic diffusers are integrated. All devices have smooth intensity adjustment capability allowing personalized environment creation for employees.

At reception desk, a glass panel reminiscent of the company’s main space in adjacent building is installed. Its lighting allows manual change of glow color and brightness providing easy adaptation of mood and settings according to specific moment, task or occasion.

Maximum acoustic comfort necessary for organizing individual and concentrated work is achieved through active use of sound absorbing materials. In addition, architects deviated from classical formats of creating isolated workplaces offering custom-made furniture instead of standard models. Mobile poufs along benches and soft zones integrated into shelves support fast communication scenarios.

Numerous smart technologies and engineering solutions support functioning of the CloudUnity office ecosystem including Smart Light for convenient control over work illumination and a special app for remote booking of conference rooms, parking lots and workstations.
