You bet it is!

But we all know that, for some people, that’s just a crazy fantasy!

The lady who wrote this story is surely wishing it was true, because she’s had just about enough of her pushy/nosey/aggressive/annoying neighbors.

My elderly neighbours are completely jarring and overstepping.

“I live in the north-east of England in social housing. I live in like a bungalow in a cul de sac. The issue is the entire street is elderly people. They are completely rude and nosy as hell.

Somebody’s watching…

If I get a delivery, they are looking out the windows, if somebody parks outside for literally one second they’re immediately spawning outside the house to complain to whoever comes.

If they see one of my parcels being delivered and left in my safe place that I ask for it to be left in, they will take it from my safe place into their house to try and force me to interact with them.

I have significant fatigue and stomach issues at the moment and I often can’t, so they get mad at me and spawn at my house sometimes.

I’m severely disabled and the impression I get is they don’t like me because I’m young.

These folks can’t seem to mind their own business…

When I first moved here, my immediate neighbour literally said to my face that she called the council because she was concerned that I had moved into the house and that she had been offered a parcel to my house and my ‘names didn’t match’

I turned off parcel delivery to neighbours, yet Amazon still tried once, and not long after I woke up she had opened my front door and walked into my house.

I immediately shut up and I was terrified because I’ve heard the door open while I was literally in bed half dressed, and she and her husband are in my hallway!

And she makes some rude comment about how ‘I have tons of different identities seemingly’ because of the difference in names on my parcel (I experienced domestic violence so I changed my name a few times and this was an old parcel).

I called the council after this and they supposedly talked to her and she claimed she didn’t enter my house and that her husband did because he had dementia, which is nonsense because she was literally midway through my hallway.

Ever since then she has been really bitter.

What is wrong with these people?!?!

I was trying new powers with a wheelchair therapist and the therapist was parked in my parking space, outside of my house, and her family then proceeded to park in front and give us dirty looks.

She uses my parking space all the time in front of my house. I don’t have a car but it still makes me mad that it’s my parking space and she hasn’t even ever asked and they get mad when someone uses it. I’d probably say yes if they asked.

She now will call about literally anything .

She called because I hadn’t done any gardening, called saying my garden was overgrown several times, called to complain because I left some cardboard offcuts in bags waiting to be collected, claimed there was rats in my garden (there isn’t, and there was no evidence of any when collected either).

She called claiming there was rubbish in my front garden (there literally wasn’t even at all, I have a flower bed and there was just rubbish in the general street area).

On and on it goes…

She called the council to ask them why someone like me could live by myself (obviously referring to me being disabled) and kept asking them for updates as to whether I had carers?

And my other neighbour is just weird! She kissed me on the head the first time I came here (unprompted and uninvited) and she randomly knocked on my door while my partner was here and told my partner that she noticed I didn’t have any blinds in one part of my house (??) and that I needed to get them (I’d literally just moved in not long before).

How much worse can it get…?

Let it be known it’s only been 2 months. Before I’d even moved in they called to report contractors in my house claiming they thought they were BURGLARS? Burglars in a literally empty home?

Bear in mind this is the quietest street ever, but we live in a nearby city area, there’s not much through traffic and like minimal foot traffic, we live in a family area.

The council told me I should be happy to live with nosy neighbours and that elderly people are ‘just like that’ and that I should be understanding that at their age they’re vulnerable and ‘at least you’ll be safe!’…

Well so am I, but you don’t see me doing that.”
