Does building a successful company require a big city?

For years, major metropolitan cities have been seen as the natural homes of opportunity, innovation and entrepreneurship. But as technology changes access to customers, knowledge, talent and markets, geography is no longer the limitation it once was.

This talk explores the entrepreneurial potential of Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities, using Jodhpur as a starting point. These cities are home to millions of consumers, young people, growing markets and—perhaps most importantly—millions of unsolved problems. And where there is a problem, there can be an opportunity.

The talk challenges the idea that entrepreneurship is defined by funding, followers or a fancy office. Instead, it presents a simple journey: identify a problem, create value and take action.

From recognizing local challenges to using technology to reach markets anywhere in the world, the message is ultimately about changing how we see our cities—and ourselves.

Your city isn't your limitation. It's your starting point. Narpat Singh Rathore is an entrepreneur and co-founder of Miss Cheesecake, a growing dessert brand he launched with Pooja Balani in 2024. Together, they transformed a homegrown passion for cheesecakes into an ambitious national business, built around fresh, preservative-free ingredients and an innovative hub-and-spoke model. Their journey took them to Shark Tank India Season 4, where they gained national attention and declined an investment offer, standing firmly by their vision.

Under Narpat’s entrepreneurial leadership, Miss Cheesecake has expanded through retail and online channels and begun developing plans for central kitchens, kiosks and franchises across India. His journey reflects resilience, calculated risk-taking and the courage to pursue long-term vision over immediate compromise. From building a brand in Jodhpur to pursuing national expansion, Narpat represents a new generation of entrepreneurs driven by ambition, innovation and the belief.
