Georgia 2026 Football Schedule Breakdown And Analysis
The 2026 Georgia football schedule has its problems and concerns, but if the team is national title-level good, things aren't that bad.
Last year's Bulldog slate was a relative dream. Alabama had to come to Athens - forgetting that Georgia blew it - there was no Texas A&M, Ole Miss was at home, and missing Vanderbilt and Missouri wasn't a bad deal.
This year, the teams the Dawgs miss are big, the non-conference slate is fine, and ... it's all about the landmines.
Here's our outlook on the 2026 Georgia football schedule.
The Good, the Bad, and Who Georgia Misses in 2026

A 3-0 start is a must against Tennessee State, Western Kentucky, and the SEC opener at Arkansas. There might be a bit of a rough run, but three of the next four games are at home.
Missouri and Georgia Tech are home games, three of the five games away from Athens are against teams that didn't go bowling last year.
The Bad
Yeah, it's the cost of doing business in the SEC, but going to Alabama and Ole Miss won't be easy.
There's a three-week stretch in the middle of the season without a home game, and there's just one date in Samford from October 3 to November 14.
What SEC Teams Georgia Will Miss
Kentucky, LSU, Mississippi State, Tennessee, Texas, Texas A&M.
Not having to play Texas, Texas A&M, and this year, LSU, is massive. All three of those games would be 50/50 battles that could go the wrong way.
Not getting Tennessee is a sweetener - no problems there without that dangerous date.
Georgia’s Best and Worst Case Scenarios in 2026
Best Case: Start 5-0
The Bulldogs beat Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Vanderbilt on the way to a 3-0 SEC start and a 5-0 run to get things going.
They didn't do that in 2024 or 2025, but they've gone to the SEC Championship the last six times they started with five wins.
There's a miss somewhere, but just one. It isn't enough to keep them away from a sixth-straight SEC Championship appearance.
Worst Case: They lose to the playoff teams
Georgia plays at Alabama and at Ole Miss, and it loses both games.
There aren't any problems with most of the SEC games, and it gets by Georgia Tech at the end, but there's a slip against Oklahoma, Auburn, Florida, or Missouri on the way to a 9-3 season to miss out on the SEC Championship and College Football Playoff.

Games That Will Decide Georgia’s Season
1. at Alabama, Oct. 10
To hammer this home, as long as the Bulldogs take care of things in their house, this might be a two-game season. Beat Alabama, and the SEC Championship should be a lock. Lose, and there's work to do.
2. at Ole Miss, Nov. 7
This shouldn't be the tough battles they were last year, but it's a revenge game for the College Football Playoff loss, and it's coming after the date in Atlanta against Florida.
3. Oklahoma, Sept. 26
It's a dangerous early game that will be a really, really big deal to Oklahoma. It's the first time these two played as SEC brothers, and the first meeting since the epic Rose Bowl thriller in the 2018 College Football Playoff.
