Georgia Earns Massive Victory Over Alabama In Gritty Road Effort

The Georgia Bulldogs earned their biggest regular season victory in years on Saturday night, leaving Tuscaloosa with a win for the first time since 2007 and remaining undefeated after a hotly contested battle against Alabama.

It's very possible these two teams will see each other again at some point down the line, and while there was some controversy down the stretch, the Dawgs came into a hostile environment and absolutely took it against a very strong Crimson Tide team. Rushing for over 200 yards as a team without their top two running backs, Georgia was the tougher and more physical team, and that is why they were able to win.

Gunner Stockton was absolutely sensational, especially on 3rd down where it seemed time and time again he made big throws that wound up being enough to win his team the game. One week removed from what may have been the best game of his career, Stockton delivered the biggest win of his time in Athens and allows Georgia to stifle the narrative that they cannot beat Alabama in the regular season.

This was a team and a program victory, and one to which Kirby Smart should take a whole lot of pride in. The crowd at Bryant-Denny Stadium brought some absolutely insane energy, but the Dawgs simply came in, played their game, took care of business and left as the winning side.

As for a potential rematch, this was a battle between the two best teams in the conference, and it would certainly not be a surprise to see them on the same field again down the line whether it be the SEC Championship or College Football Playoff.

Next up for Georgia is a rivalry game against the Auburn Tigers at home where they will have to get right back up in order to continue the winning streak in the Deep South's Oldest Rivalry.

For the moment though, fans should enjoy and savor this win, because it was a historic day for the Bulldogs program and a major statement that this team does in fact have what it takes to compete for a national title. Kirby Smart will certainly be extremely satisfied with this one, and it's not one he will forget anytime soon.

This was a great night for the Georgia Bulldogs, and fans all over the state should enjoy the fact that the Dawgs have won in Tuscaloosa.
