Home Depot Expands Pro Business With Hvac Distributor Acquisition

The Home Depot has made two more moves in its effort to add to the products and services it offers Pro customers.

The home improvement retailer’s subsidiary SRS Distribution entered into an agreement to acquire Mingledorff’s, a wholesale distributor of heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) equipment, parts and supplies that operates from 42 locations in five southeastern states, according to a Tuesday (March 24) press release.

The Home Depot expects the acquisition to close during the second quarter, subject to customary closing conditions, the release said.

The acquisition will expand the specialty trade distribution offerings The Home Depot offers through SRS by adding HVAC to the existing roofing and building products, interior and construction products, landscape and pool verticals, per the release.

“SRS is a growth engine for The Home Depot, and we continue to drive significant synergies that enable us to bring more innovation and value to our Pro customers,” The Home Depot Chair, President and CEO Ted Decker said in the release.

About a week earlier, on March 18, The Home Depot announced in a press release that it added new project management and artificial intelligence tools to its Pro digital experience, which helps professional renovators, remodelers and builders manage their projects, materials and businesses.

The updated Home Depot Pro site includes features that help with project planning, real-time delivery tracking, complex order scheduling, purchase history, and shared access that enables Pro to collaborate with their teams and with the Home Depot Pro team, according to the release. It is available for free to members of the retailer’s Pro Xtra loyalty program.

“Our upgraded Pro site experience provides tools that work the way Pros do, by integrating project management into their mobile workspace to help them oversee entire jobs, not just individual purchases,” Mike Rowe, executive vice president of Pro for The Home Depot, said in the release. “And the best part is that all of these tools are available through one supplier.”

PYMNTS reported in February that the defining narrative of The Home Depot’s 2025 results was the rapid expansion of Pro.

The Home Depot spent the last several years assembling a wholesale-style ecosystem designed for professional customers, in part through its 2024 integration of SRS.
