How To Keep A Small Energetic Dog "on Rest"?
The vet said he may have an invisible soft tissue injury that needs a week to heal, so no walks or play. My little guy (Bosco) is 3 years old and very energetic. I did not crate train him. How do I keep him still and rested?
The vet isn't 100 percent sure what is causing Bosco's symptoms (three times now, several months apart, he spends a day or two shaking, withdrawn, and will yelp when touched. All basic tests are normal, no clear injury). He has improved greatly each time with pain meds, but the vet thinks he needs more time "restricted" from activity in case this is a disc issue that keeps getting aggravated.
I have a small apartment, no stairs, and no other pets, but Bosco gets zoomies and runs around. He also doesn't know how to do "his business" without at least 5-10 minutes of walking first. Vet says NO walks. I'd love any tips!
FYI Bosco isn't particularly food motivated and doesn't engage much with toys besides playing fetch or chewing a dental stick. His favorite thing to do is leap on and off furniture and spin in circles.
