Indonesia Set To Lead Operations In Gaza Peace Force
Indonesia will take on the role of Deputy Commander for Operations in Gaza’s proposed international security force, Foreign Minister Sugiono announced.
The deployment is expected to be carried out in stages across five operational sectors, with the overall multinational force potentially exceeding 20,000 personnel. Indonesia is preparing 1,000 troops for possible deployment by early April as part of the International Stabilization Force (ISF).
According to ISF commander Major General Jasper Jeffers, five countries have already committed troops to the mission. The announcement has also sparked debate at home, with protests reported outside the U.S. Embassy in Jakarta over Indonesia’s involvement in Gaza.
Watch for verified updates, deployment details, and regional reactions as the international mission takes shape.
