Mcgeehan Returns To Barnsley From Northampton
Cameron McGeehan has returned to Barnsley from Northampton Town to be reunited with promotion-winning head coach Daniel Stendel.
The midfielder had a previous three-year spell at Oakwell from 2017 and was a key part of Stendel's side which amassed a club record 91 points to win promotion to the Championship in 2019.
The 31-year-old, who has one Northern Ireland cap, has signed a one-year deal on his return, with the club holding the option of another season.
McGeehan had a fine campaign with Northampton last season, scoring seven goals in his 39 appearances.
He told the Barnsley website: "It's a great feeling to be back. As soon as you come in, it feels a little bit like home again. I had some really positive conversations with the head coach and he was really keen to bring me back and use my experience here, so I was delighted to make it happen.
"I feel like there's some unfinished business, and I'm still really hungry to succeed."
Stendel said: "He's a player I know extremely well and someone who understands exactly how I want my teams to play."
