What is One Nation's plan to allow workers to cash out their superannuation? Under the proposal, Australians who pay rent or a mortgage would be given a choice to divert a portion of their superannuation to their take-home pay for up to three years.

But the proposal has triggered an immediate rebuke from the government, and there's also the question of whether unlocking billions in additional income across the economy would be inflationary and worsen cost-of-living pressures. According to the super industry, One Nation's policy would also leave the average worker $25,000 worse off at retirement.
