Parents Have 0 Retirement Savings - What Can I Do To Help

Looking for advice on what I can do here.

My (27F) mom (56F) recently confessed that her & my dad (59M) have no money, no savings (drained 401k and any other savings accounts), and are in a load of debt (minimum $150k debt, max could be somewhere over $1mil across all accounts, including business).

I’ve known they’re struggling financially for a few years, including being in debt, but I had no idea it was this bad. My dad lost his job in ~2019 and has since been trying to start his own company(ies) with little success (it’s a complicated story and not really relevant to my post).

Between household expenses, taxes, insurance (located in CA - wildfire insurance alone for them is $12.5k/year), and what I see as irresponsible sending habits, they’re broke.

I already felt sick to my stomach about it before, but obviously feel 1000x worse now knowing they drained the 401k too. They’re not asking me for help or to do anything, but I feel like I need to step in here and do something to help (even just by providing resources or something) because they helped me financially my whole life until I was ~23.

I truly don’t know how to help them or how to cope with this. I’m not sure if I provided enough detail, but if anyone has any advice, I’d really appreciate it. Can provide more info at request. Thank you.

They do own a home (not paid off) & will be selling it as soon as possible (not sure when that is) & move to a more affordable state). I guess the reason for not wanting to declare bankruptcy, which I might be butchering or not explaining perfectly, is because they wouldn’t be able to have credit cards or apply for anything for 7 years?

They are not and would not ever ask me to loan them money, and I do agree that there’s no use in doing that because they’d piss it all away anyways, but I’m desperate to find anything that I can do to provide some relief - but I understand no magical fix exists and reality is they’re fucked. It’s just incredibly heart breaking. I never could’ve imagined that this would be their reality. I just feel sick. I will continue to look at the advice everyone is providing in the comments and truly thank you all.
