Rising Bharat Summit 2026 : Gccs Drive India’s Growth, Real Estate & Ai Transformation

At the Rising Bharat Summit 2026, industry leaders highlighted how Global Capability Centres (GCCs) are reshaping India’s economic and innovation landscape.
Karan Virwani, Chairperson, MD & CEO of WeWork India, said GCCs have driven nearly 40% of India’s commercial real estate demand, adding that India is now home to high-end innovation, R&D, and front-office functions powered by deep talent pools.
Kiran Cherukuri, EVP & Global GCC Practice Head at HCLTech, revealed that 65% of GCCs have already experimented with or rolled out AI pilots, noting that AI is accelerating the shift from instruction-based roles to full product ownership.
Aravind Maiya, Co-Founder & CEO of EmbarkGCC, said the fifth wave of GCCs could include IPOs of Indian units, while competition for skilled talent and leadership depth will be critical as GCCs evolve into standalone global businesses.
Rohan Lobo, Partner & GCC Industry Leader at **Deloitte South Asia, projected that around 5,000 firms may look to set up GCCs in India, with increasing activity in autonomous systems and advanced technologies.
Speakers also noted that while metros remain strong GCC hubs, Tier-II cities are emerging as expansion centres, supported by talent availability and cost efficiencies.
