Samsung C&t And Hl Robotics Team Up To Develop Parking Robot
HL Robotics and Samsung C&T are working together to develop a robot that can park and bring back cars in apartment complexes. The aim is to make parking easier and more convenient for residents.
HL Robotics announced the partnership on September 23. The two companies signed an agreement on September 22 at Raemian Gallery in Seoul, South Korea. They will work together on new smart services for homes and apartments.
The companies will connect HL Robotics’ Parkie parking robot with Samsung C&T’s Homeniq smart home platform. Residents will be able to use Homeniq to ask the robot to park their cars or bring them back when needed.
Parkie can move under a car, lift it and take it to a parking space. It can move the car without a driver. When a resident wants the car back, the robot can also bring it to a selected place.
As the first step, two Parkie robots will be used at Raemian Gallery. HL Robotics and Samsung C&T will collect information from the tests. They will check how safely and smoothly the robots can park and bring back cars.
If the tests are successful, the companies plan to use the robots at more Raemian apartment complexes. They may also use the technology in apartment redevelopment and remodeling projects.
The companies will also explore patents and future business plans. HL Robotics CEO Kim Yoon-ki said the partnership will help improve its parking robot and expand smart residential services.
