Samsung Reportedly Chooses Snapdragon For Galaxy S27 Pro And Ultra

Samsung may continue using Snapdragon processors in the Galaxy S27 Pro and Galaxy S27 Ultra in South Korea. This is despite reports claiming that its upcoming Exynos 2700 chip performs better than its Snapdragon rival in internal tests.

According to tipster yeux1122, Samsung is not planning to switch to Exynos chips for its top-end Galaxy S27 models in its home market. The main reason behind this decision is reportedly cost reduction.

The tipster claims that the Galaxy S27 Pro will feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6, while the Galaxy S27 Ultra could come with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6.

Meanwhile, the standard Galaxy S27 and Galaxy S27+ are expected to use Samsung’s Exynos 2700 processor in most global markets, including Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia, and South Korea. However, North American models may continue to use Snapdragon chips.

This is interesting because the Exynos 2700 is reportedly performing better than its Snapdragon rival in Samsung’s internal tests. Samsung has also improved its Exynos processors over the past few years, especially since the Exynos 2400.

Earlier Exynos chips faced problems such as overheating, poor battery life, and performance issues. However, Samsung has been working to fix these problems with newer chips.

Still, Samsung may choose Snapdragon for its most expensive phones because of cost and business decisions. For now, these details are based on leaks and rumours. Samsung has not officially confirmed the chipset plans for the Galaxy S27 series.
