Samsung's New $799 Galaxy Book 6 Is Clearly Gunning For The Apple Macbook Neo

Samsung has just announced a new 14-inch Galaxy Book 6, thus expanding its Galaxy Book 6 lineup. The new Galaxy Book 6 is a whopping $450 more affordable than the other Galaxy Book 6 variant announced months ago.

Speaking of which, the device is priced at $799, which makes it $100 more expensive than the MacBook Neo, a device it’s obviously meant to be competing with. This laptop has plenty of perks, though.

“With the new Galaxy Book 6, we wanted to make the Galaxy Book experience available for more people,” said Mincheol Lee, EVP, Head of Galaxy Ecosystems Business Team and Samsung Electronics.

Samsung says that the new Galaxy Book 6 is “designed around the tasks people rely on every day, from browsing the web and creating documents to video calls, multitasking, and streaming content.”

Samsung claims you can get up to 25 hours of battery life from this thing

The company claims that this laptop can provide you with up to 25 hours of battery life on a single charge. 45W charging is supported, by the way, and it can bring this laptop from 0 to 33% in 30 minutes. A 61.2Wh battery is included, by the way.

Intel’s Core Series 3 chip fuels the base version, but there’s also a Core Series 5 version. A 14-inch LCD WUXGA (1920 x 1200) display is used here, and it goes up to 350 nits of brightness.

Versions with 8GB and 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM have been announced, with 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB of PCIe storage. The touchpad on the device is quite spacious, by the way.

Windows 11 Home or Pro comes pre-installed on the new Galaxy Book 6, while Intel’s NPU (up to 15 tops) is included here. The device also includes Intel Graphics and supports Wi-Fi 6E. Bluetooth 5.4 is also supported.

There is a 2MP full HD camera included on the device, along with stereo speakers (2Wx2), and Dolby Atmos support. The new Galaxy Book 6 also has internal dual array digital microphones. The ‘Pro keyboard’ is included, though it does not include a backlight, unfortunately.

What about ports? Well, two USB Type-C ports are included, along with a USB Type-A port, an HDMI 1.4 port (supports 4K@30), and there’s also a 3.5mm headphone jack as well.

The brand new Samsung Galaxy Book 6 measures 313.0 x 221.0 x 15.7mm, and weighs 1.35kg. It comes in two colors: Gray and Violet Silver.

Considering this is one of Samsung’s Galaxy tablets, Galaxy AI is a part of the picture. Various features from AI Select and AI cut out to Note Assist are a part of the package. Quick Share is also included for sharing content, and the same goes for Storage Share.

Samsung also highlighted Multi Control, Second Screen, Nearby Devices, and Link to Windows features. Samsung Care+ has been mentioned as well, as it offers “comprehensive coverage for accidental damage, repairs, and replacements, helping users feel more confident throughout the life of their PC.”

It starts at $799

The Samsung Galaxy Book 6 is already available in “select markets” starting at $799. Do note that “additional markets” will follow soon, as Samsung said. Versions of the device may vary by region, of course.
