New scaffolding has appeared around Dockside Diner at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, as Echo Lake undergoes refurbishment.

Dockside Diner Scaffolding

As of August 17, scaffolding is in place around the side that faces the lake and both ends of Docksider Diner. The vessel is named S.S. Down the Hatch.

While the exterior of the boat gets some work done, the quick-service kiosk is still open for business.

The new scaffolding comes after Echo Lake was drained for refurbishment.

“Please pardon our appearance,” a green sign reads on a fence surrounding the lake. “Keeping our city beautiful. Echo Lake is being refurbished for your future enjoyment.”

Besides the S.S. Down the Hatch, Echo Lake is also home to Gertie the dinosaur.

Echo Lake is located in the middle of Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular, Hollywood & Vine, 50’s Prime Time Cafe, and For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-along Celebration.

Disney has not announced how long the refurbishment will last. Stay tuned for updates.
