Started A Job Making 12k More Per Year

Not sure if this is the right sub for this. 42yr old, 310k in bank, 40k liquid emergency fund, shares in a friends commercial painting business brings me 3k a year, 10-12k in “other” income. My half of bills every month is around $850. No car payment or personal debt.

Wife makes 120k per year, has 80k in bank and 320k in 401k. Medium cost of living in Winchester, Va.

My old job I was at, delivering roof trusses and wall panels for a family owned lumber company, I made $27 per hour. I worked 6-2:30, could take off whenever I wanted to, had ability to pretty much do as I wanted and dictate my runs, and overall very lax. No 401k match, 2 weeks paid vacation, no other monetary benefits. Take home $862

New job is for Averitt Express doing LTL delivery/pickup in NOVA. Make $35.70 per hour. New schedule is 9-5, but usually dont get off until 5:30-5:45, cant take off whenever I want, start times are done by seniority which makes me low man on totem poll hence the 9am. They rarely hire due to people not leaving and out of 15 drivers, 9 are over 55. Profit sharing so no 401k match, 1 week paid vacation. Take home $1,106

$12,688 difference on 52 weeks.

I know everyone’s situation is different, but is the extra money worth the time as far as starting later and getting off later in the day? I value my time in life immensely. Ive never been one to chase money and I dont really consider 12k a year to be life changing for the time spent. Am I looking at this wrong? Does it all just boil down to personal preference and what you want out of life? Any advice?

Once again, maybe the wrong sub for this, but I follow this sub and look at it often.
