Tata Being ‘criminally Destroyed’, Alleges Rahul Gandhi Amid Group’s Boardroom Battle
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday alleged that the Union government was “criminally destroying” the Tata Group, the largest Indian conglomerate.
Gandhi said that no business leader had “dared to say a word” and asked how long they would “stay silent”.
Indian business is not Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s “plaything”, the Opposition leader said on social media.
He added that business leaders were “lacking courage” and that the Congress “will ensure justice for these crimes”.
It was not immediately clear what Gandhi was referring to. But the comments came amid a dispute within the leadership of Tata Sons, which is the holding entity of the conglomerate’s companies.

Tata Trusts, a group of philanthropic entities headed by Noel Tata since October 2024, holds a 66% stake in Tata Sons.

This came a month after Chandrasekaran said he would retire in February 2027.
