Vinyl continues to lead the way when it comes to the resurgence of physical media, with record sales having increased every year since 2007. In fact, last year vinyl record sales surpassed $1 billion for the first time since 1983.

Naturally, this has encouraged many of the biggest names in hi-fi to get back in (or ramp up) the turntable business. Today, brands like Pro-Ject, Sony, Audio-Technica, Technics and Teac all make a wide variety of turntables. Some are designed for entry-level vinyl enthusiasts. Some are designed for truly elite audiophiles with seriously deep pockets.

So far in 2026, many new turntables have been announced. Below, we’ve rounded up the most notable of these releases.

The Best New Turntables of 2026 (January – October)

Pro-Ject

Pro-Ject Debut Reference 10

Pro-Ject’s Debut Reference 10 is the most high-end and expensive turntable in the company’s popular Debut range. And naturally, it adds even more premium components and features to the Debut’s familiar, minimalist design. The most notable upgrade is that it has a hybrid carbon and aluminum tonearm (a first for a Debut turntable) that “offers full adjustability for both azimuth and vertical tracking angle.” It also comes with a higher-end Pick It PRO Balanced moving-magnet cartridge, a new power generator, and elevated accents.

Kanto Audio Obi3 (Gen 2)

The Obi3 (Gen 2) is an upgraded version of the Obi3 turntable that was released less than a year before. Like its predecessor, the Gen 2 model is a manual belt-drive turntable with a switchable phono stage and built-in Bluetooth. It also comes with the same Audio-Technica AT3600L cartridge and an aluminum J-shaped tonearm. However, the new turntable has a more premium build (and four pounds heavier) and features a built-in speed sensor for accurate playback. At $250, it’s $50 more expensive than the first-gen Obi3.

Pro-Ject Audio E1.2 BT

Pro-Ject’s E1.2 BT is a new variant of the company’s entry-level turntable, which was released in 2025. It’s the same turntable as the E1.2, but with a Bluetooth transmitter that lets you stream vinyl to wireless speakers or headphones. In addition to the three standard finishes (black, white, and wood), the E1.2 BT is also available in more colorful satin hand-painted finishes, such as yellow and dark blue.

It’s an all-in-one hi-fi system that plays your favorite vinyl records and streams your favorite music over Wi-Fi (via Sonos multiroom) or Bluetooth. It’s also a beautifully designed statement piece. Esoteric

Esoteric T-01

The Esoteric T-01 is smaller and more affordable version of the brand’s $80,000 Grandioso T1 turntable. It isn’t a conventional belt-drive or direct-drive turntable; instead, it uses the brand’s patented “Esoteric MagneDrive System,” a non-contact drive system that uses magnetic force to rotate the turntable platter rather than physical components. It’s an extreme method to isolate the record from vibrations typically caused by the motor. The company says the T-01 “achieves extraordinary rotational silence, stability, and high-torque performance, revealing music with uncompromising precision, energy, and realism.”

Interestingly, the TD-1 comes with a specialized wall mount that is rubber-coated and has a built-in level. Once secured to the wall, the TD-1 magnetically clicks into place. Fluance

Fluance RT87

The Fluance RT87 is the most high-end turntable in the company’s Reference Series, and sits right above its previous flagship: the RT85N ($550). However, the RT87 represents a significant step up. Its most striking feature is its dual-plinth architecture, a first for Fluance; this creates a physical separation between the top plinth and the motor, which is mounted on the lower plinth, further eliminating vibrations from reaching the tonearm and cartridge. The RT87 is engineered with other features to ensure this accurate playback. And Fluance gives listeners the option to choose between two different MM cartridges: Audio-Technica’s AT-VM95ML or Ortofon’s 2M Blue.

And it’s a complete one-box, hi-fi system that supports Bluetooth streaming (when not listening to vinyl). However, the MK2 has been upgraded with new refinements to improve its sound, usability and integration with other audio systems that you may already have in your home.

Audio-Technica

Audio-Technica AT-LP7X

The AT-LP7X is a fully manual belt-drive turntable with a minimalist design that costs $999 — it’s sort of like a belt-drive alternative to the brand’s direct-drive AT-LP8X, which also costs roughly $1,000. Both turntables feature a matte-black finish, premium materials and a J-shaped aluminum tonearm that is inspired by Audio-Technica’s classic turntables from the 1960s and ’70s. However, the AT-LP7X differs slightly: Audio-Technica built in a phono preamplifier compatible with both MM and MC cartridges. This means you can hook a turntable directly to a pair of powered or active speakers, for example.
