The Unintended Consequences Of Just Doing It. | Matt Desmier | Tedxbournemouth University

We celebrate action moving fast, taking risks, and “just doing it.” But what happens after the decision is made?
This talk explores the quiet ripple effects of our choices, the relationships we strain, the opportunities we overlook, and the versions of ourselves we unintentionally leave behind. Through real, human-centered reflection, it challenges the idea that action is always progress, asking instead,

"What does it cost to act without pause?"
Occasionally, the consequences aren’t loud failures but subtle shifts that change everything.
A seemingly insatiable curiosity, distinctive laugh and an acquired sense of dress, are three of Desmier’s more prominent features. But it’s his unique perspective and ability to see things others don't that truly sets him apart from his peers.
As a Business Manager at Bournemouth University, Matt helps businesses solve problems and exploit opportunities. As a keynote speaker, regularly contributing to stages around the work, he helps audiences understand new ideas in novel ways.
And when he’s not busy running around doing all of that, he’s busy running around picking up after his two young children or, as an amateur runner, he’s just busy running. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
