Urban Company’s Losses Balloon To Rs 100 Cr In Q4 Fy26 Amid Instahelp Push

Home services marketplace Urban Company posted its Q4 FY26 results today with a strong 43% year-on-year growth in topline, but at the same time, its losses ballooned to Rs 99.86 crore.

According to the company’s quarterly financial results, Urban Company's revenue from operations rose to Rs 425.56 crore in Q4 FY26 from Rs 298.45 crore in the same quarter last year, according to its unaudited financial results sourced from the National Stock Exchange (NSE).

The company’s India Consumer Services business (excluding InstaHelp) remained the largest contributor and accounted for 68% of the operating revenue. Revenue from the segment grew over 26% to Rs 288.47 crore during the quarter.

Urban Company’s Native brands business recorded over 75% year-on-year growth in revenue to Rs 70.22 crore in Q4 FY26 from Rs 40 crore in Q4 FY25. The international business also posted a strong growth of 89% which contributed Rs 57.93 crore. 

The company’s newly launched quick-service housekeeping vertical, InstaHelp, posted revenue of Rs 8.94 crore during the quarter, but at the same time incurred a segmental loss of Rs 118.73 crore.

In the previous quarter (Q3 FY26), InstaHelp clocked 1.61 million orders and reported revenue of Rs 6.8 crore. In March this year, the platform crossed 1 million bookings after recording 50,000 daily bookings in February.

The company also earned Rs 36.74 crore from non-operating sources during the quarter, taking its overall income to Rs 462.3 crore. For the full year ended March 2026, the company recorded a 36% year-on-year growth in revenue to Rs 1,555.54 crore. However, it slipped into the red with a loss of Rs 234.8 crore.

On the cost front, its employee benefits expenses surged 40% to Rs 129.31 crore in Q4 FY26 from Rs 92.27 crore in Q4 FY25, while its cost of materials rose 37% year-on-year to Rs 88.83 crore. Finance cost, depreciation & amortization expenses and other undisclosed expenses took the overall expenditure of the firm to Rs 556.85 crore in the quarter from Rs 320.35 crore in Q4 FY25, reflecting a 74% year-on-year increase.

Despite strong revenue growth, the company’s losses before tax jumped to Rs 99.86 crore in Q4 FY26 as it continued heavy investments in its quick-service housekeeping vertical, InstaHelp.

Caveat: the company also booked Rs 61 crore in deferred tax expenses, which pushed its overall quarterly loss to Rs 161 crore. However, this has been excluded from our loss calculations.

At the end of Friday’s trading session, Urban Company’s shares closed 6% lower at Rs 137.8 compared to the previous closing price, taking the company’s total market capitalization to Rs 21,251 crore ($2.23 billion).
