Vodafone Idea Limited (VIL), the third-largest telecom operator in India, has launched 5G in Bhopal. This was just announced by the telecom company. Bhopal has become the third city in the Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh (MP & CG) circle to get 5G from Vi. Just a few days back, TelecomTalk reported that Vodafone Idea’s 5G has still not penetrated Chhattisgarh. This remains to be the case. Apart from Bhopal, Indore and Gwalior are two more cities in Madhya Pradesh which now have Vi’s 5G networks.

According to insiders, Vi’s planning to launch 5G in Chhattisgarh soon as well. The telco said in a release that it is currently prioritising high-data consumption centers of India to launch 5G. Bhopal, being the capital of Madhya Pradesh is at the center for consumers who have a high-paying capacity. Plenty of students and businesses in the area will now be able to enjoy Vi’s 5G.

Vodafone Idea has deployed advanced, energy efficient infrastructure and has also implemented AI-powered self-optimising network (SON) to automatically network performance, enabling users to seamlessly work from home or manage business operations from an office or shop with uniterrupted connectivity.

Kavita Nadkarni, Business Head, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, Vodafone Idea, said, “We are accelerating the expansion of Vi’s 5G network across Madhya Pradesh, as we strengthen our footprint across key markets in the state. Our launch in Bhopal and prior launches in Indore and Gwalior mark important steps in this journey. Our expansion is guided by a clear focus on prioritising high-demand locations spanning high data consumption centers as well as areas with significant footfall including commercial hubs and tourist locations ensuring a consistent and enhanced network experience for our users.”

With this, Vodafone Idea is expanding the reach of its high-speed networks and stands a better chance to capitalise on high-paying customers and improve average revenue per user (ARPU).
