Security measures outside Madison Square Garden for Wednesday night's Game 4 of the NBA Finals won’t appear to be any different than they were for Game 3 on Monday when President Donald Trump was in attendance.

The New York Police Department announced on X Wednesday morning that “the same secure zone” would be in place around MSG, beginning at 4 p.m. The zone will extend from West 29th Street to West 35th Street, between Sixth Avenue and Eighth Avenue, according to the post. The NYPD cautioned people to avoid the area if they aren't going to the game or a nearby restaurant to watch it.

“Starting at 4 p.m., no one will be allowed inside the secure area unless they have a ticket to the game, a train ticket, are going to a business (restaurant or bar) inside the area, live in the area, have credentials, or have some other authorized reason to be there,” the NYPD said in a statement.

The New York Knicks are up 2-1 in the best-of-seven NBA Finals after winning the first two games over the Spurs in San Antonio and losing Monday’s home game, 115-111. Game 4 is scheduled for 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

We know you are excited to cheer on the Knicks tonight, and we are too, but we want everyone to be safe.

Starting at 4pm, we will have the same secure zone around MSG as we had on Monday. Everyone will be screened.

Before Monday’s Game 3, fans were told to arrive at least two hours prior to tip-off to allow time for various security checkpoints, including a TSA-style magnetometer often seen in airports. The screening sites will return Wednesday, opening at 4:30 p.m.

The NYPD said the four points fans can enter the arena will be the West side of Sixth Avenue at West 33rd Street, West side of Sixth Avenue at West 32nd Street, West side of Eighth Avenue at West 33rd Street, and the Northeast corner of Eighth Avenue and West 30th Street.

Fans will once again not be allowed to bring bags into the game.

Is there a Knicks Watch Party for Game 4?

One major difference for Wednesday’s game will be the reintroduction of the watch party outside MSG. The NYPD previously moved the watch party for Game 3 to Bryant Park. According to the NYPD post, it will be a ticketed event due to over 20 arrests at Monday’s party, and no reentry will be allowed.

Only 1,000 tickets to the watch party are expected to be sold on the Knicks’ website.

New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani tweeted about the watch party on Tuesday evening.

“NEW YORK: We’re back outside the Garden," Mamdani said. "We have approved a ticketed MSG watch party for Game 4. More details soon.

"As we prepare to watch together, let me be clear: this is a historic, joyful moment for our city," Mamdani added. "We will not allow it to be disrupted by violence. Be safe, take care, and celebrate responsibly. Knicks in 5."
