2011 V8v Sportshift Diagnosis Help

Card image cap

Hi all- I have a 2011 v8 Vantage 4.7 with Sportshift 1. 72k miles on the car, clutch was replaced about 10k miles ago and generally is a joy to drive (always in manual mode, of course). I've looked at the clutch kiss point and wear index info with my foxwell scanner and both are within the normal 'mid life' range for the clutch.

I have two issues:
  • More and more frequently when downshifting from 4->3 or 3->2 at low RPM, the car will dump it into the lower gear and fail to rev match (drops RPM, then recovers into the lower gear with a lurch). This happens while coasting down or while braking.
  • The Sportshift pump runs every ~45 seconds for a short burst, whether or not I have changed any gears (can happen just sitting in neutral in the driveway). I've timed this with a stopwatch.
To try and solve issue number 1, I recently flushed and bled the ASM fluid lines (CHF11s) using my foxwell NT530. I bought the upgraded feed lines from the reservoir but didn't change them as the old ones were in really good condition still. I don't have any fluid leaks of any kind and the reservoir did have plenty of fluid in it when I did the bleed process (it was nearly black, though).

The above is making me think I possibly have a failing/failed accumulator that is no longer holding pressure? I'm assuming the two issues are related but maybe not. Would love advice from anyone here - also if you've ever taken the SS solenoid and accumulator assembly apart I'd be interested to know how that went before I go spend a bunch of money at a shop. Thanks!
