Dating Expert Shares Key Advice For Men On Handling The Friend Zone
Every guy has probably been put into the friend zone at least once. You think you have a future with someone, only to have them hit you with the dreaded "Let's just be friends line."
No matter how many times or at what stage of your life you go through this reality of dating, it's never fun.
There are several ways you can handle being friendzoned, and dating expert Blaine Anderson thinks one course of action is best.
Keep it short and simple
Anderson runs her own dating advice and matchmaking service, DatingbyBlaine, and also regularly posts dating advice on her Instagram account.
In a recent video, she covered how men should respond when a girl says "I think we should be friends" and they are looking for more.
"Say this: 'I respect that, but I'm really not looking for friendship. I wish you all the best,'" Anderson advised.
"Then, leave it there. No convincing, no arguing, no long messages. Just move on and find someone who wants the same thing as you."
Who is Blaine Anderson?
A former employee in the travel industry, Blaine Anderson was inspired to get into the dating advice world during her time as a sorority member at the University of Arizona.
"My guy friends would ask me for dating advice about my sorority sisters,” Anderson says on her website. “The BEST guys had the WORST luck with girls, and it confused me. I became obsessed with figuring out why. Do women hate nice guys? Or is there another problem?”
Anderson and her team of dating coaches are available for clients on her site, and you can also access her Instagram here.
In the meantime, dating in 2026 can still be fun, but it's not always easy. Best of luck out there.
